Issa Rae is already topping best-dressed lists everywhere at the 74th annual Emmy Awards.

The Insecure and Rap Sh!t creator made a fashionable red-carpet appearance for television's biggest night. The multi-hyphenate embodied elegance in a sleek ivory gown with abstract black trimming around the bust, across the waist, and all along the hem. The spaghetti strap dress also included a tasteful keyhole cutout on the chest, adding some flair to a quietly spectacular outfit.

To accessorize, she wore drop earrings, a thick diamond bracelet, and a few diamond rings.

Tonight, Rae is up for two awards: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Insecure and Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for being the executive producer of A Black Lady Sketch Show.

The actress previously opened up about looking ahead to her next act in a conversation with Camilla Blackett and Susan Fales-Hill for Harper's BAZAAR's March 2021 issue.

"I am very much looking forward to the innovation," she said. "I think the battle of these streaming networks and the competition feels like it’s going to birth other platforms for people to create on and to navigate outside the studio system. I think this next generation is already not watching traditional media. I’m very curious to see the playing field be leveled once more and to see the talent that emerges from that."

She also reflected on using her position to make her industry more inclusive of people from all backgrounds. "People will use the justification of, this is just easier," she said. "But you can’t play with people’s money and opportunities, especially now."
