Class is back in session for Dr. Alec Baker. NBC renewed The Irrational, which follows the world-renowned professor of behavioral science (Jesse L. Martin) as he applies his expertise to high-stakes criminal cases. Based on behavioral economist and Duke University professor Dan Ariely’s bestselling book Predictably Irrational, the show is a perfect blend of pop psychology and police procedural. Want to know what inattentional blindness is? Watch the Episode 2, in which a normally observant journalist fails to notice that her tea is poisoned because she's too distracted by a staged restaurant proposal.

With just four episodes to go in Season 1 (which is on hiatus until the tail end of January), let's take a look at what we can expect from The Irrational Season 2, including its release date and cast.

Every researcher needs an assistant (or two). Molly Kunz plays one of them, an overachiever named Phoebe.

Arash DeMaxi as Rizwan
