Irina Shayk is opening up about motherhood and raising her three-year-old daughter with her ex, director-actor Bradley Cooper.

In a new digital cover story for ELLE, the supermodel explained why she rejects the term co-parenting, which is often used to describe her and Cooper's parenting style. According to Shayk, she believes that the word diminishes the work they both put into raising their daughter, Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper.

"I never understood the term co-parenting. When I'm with my daughter, I'm 100 percent a mother, and when she's with her dad, he's 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting," Shayk told the magazine.

The supermodel also shared why she's reluctant to talk about her relationship with Cooper to the press, saying it's a matter that was deeply personal for her and she wants to be able to keep some sense of privacy.

"My past relationship, it's something that belongs to me, and it's private," explained Shayk. "It's just a piece of my inner self that I don't want to give away."

Further, she shared that she doesn't read any tabloid coverage regarding her or her family, but understands why the public interest is there.

"I don't read what is out there. Honestly, I'm too busy raising a child. If they want to write articles [about me], they're doing their job," said the model. "I'm concentrating on my life and my friends. The rest is just noise."
