Ireland Baldwin isn’t holding anything back in an intimate new look at her life postpartum. The model and actress stripped down to show off her body 9 months after giving birth to daughter Holland, who she shares with boyfriend RAC — and was completely honest about the challenges of adjusting to her changed body.

In a new photo on Instagram, the 28-year-old posed in front of a mirror in a black sports bra and panties. Her body is turned to the side as she raises one arm in a fist and uses the other to take the selfie. Baldwin’s hair is up in a messy bun and her lips are pursed, as if she is just too tired to care about the way her body looks right now (which we think is amazing, btw).

Baldwin, who is the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, shared that she isn’t stressed about getting back to her pre-baby body. “9 months postpartum and I’m far from where I want to be but I’m over the hump and finally finding time to get this ass into shape,” she wrote. “Not necessarily working out everyday, but making strides to be more consistent. Walk more. Move more.”

It’s a good goal to have — seemingly focused totally on being healthy and feeling good and less on what her body actually looks like. She also wants to be a voice for other mamas out there struggling with body image after giving birth.

“Just wanted to do a solidarity post with anyone who’s having a tough time getting inspired to change bad habits/work on yourself,” Baldwin continued. “I still have days where I binge eat an entire box of Girl Scout cookies for dinner but that’s OK! It took 7-9 months to even start to lose any baby weight or care to … and anyone who makes you feel bad for going at your own pace or not being enough can suck it.”

She added, “This sh*t is HARD. Be kind to yourself 🩷”

Thank you! It is hard. No matter where you are on your journey, finding self-confidence and strength as a new mom is challenging, and I love that Baldwin is being so open about something that many moms keep private.

Fellow new mom Rumer Willis commented on the vulnerable post, “Obsessed with you.” (Same.)

“You look beautiful and thank you for sharing because so many women need to know it is ok to not be back to before baby body,” another person wrote. “Our bodies are never going to be the same again and that is beautiful because we created life and made a human being.”

Another praised, “Your realness and vulnerability is one of the many reasons you are so beautiful! Don’t ever forget that! ❤”

Baldwin shared a photo of her daughter last week. Holland is sitting in a highchair with tons of red and pink balloons tied to it. “My little fairy is 9 months old. 🧚‍♀️” she captioned the cute snap.

Back in October, Baldwin gave an update about postpartum life in an Instagram Q&A. Someone asked how her and baby Holland, then 4 months, were doing. “I’m not going to lie… there have been moments where I have been so overwhelmed by all of the changes… but overall, things have been beautiful,” Baldwin wrote, per PEOPLE.

“She’s so much fun to spend time with and figure out,” she continued. “I would say most of the stress I’ve experienced lately has actually had nothing to do with her. Being overtired just makes it all worse.”

It may be challenging, but Baldwin seems to be doing a great job at this whole motherhood thing — and so many people can relate to her honest posts!
