Invincible Season 2 trailer still

Invincible’s season 2 release date is just around the corner, and fans are excited to check out the new episodes next month. So far, we’ve had very little to go off in terms of plot for the next season, with just a brief teaser shown off earlier in the year, but Amazon has just dropped a new trailer that’s very illuminating.

The new trailer – which Amazon is calling the Season 2 Official Trailer – shows the now 18-year-old Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, trying to rebuild his life following his father’s betrayal at the end of season 1. He’s got a new girlfriend, he’s patching things up with his mom, but there’s still some lingering doubt there about his Viltrumite heritage.

“When I was a kid, I always wanted to be my dad,” Mark says in the trailer, “What if that happens? What if I become him and I don’t even know it?”

The trailer also gives us a glimpse at new villains, including a shapeshifter called The Shapesmith and a man who was born with the ability to access every possible dimension, alongside the Mauler Twins and a seemingly resurrected (again) The Immortal.

Atom Eve makes a brief appearance too, after her standalone episode earlier this year and subsequent Atom Eve video game. We’re sure there’s likely to be a huge amount of both heroes and villains in the series, going by the absolutely massive voice cast, which includes Ben Schwartz, Calista Flockhart, Tim Robinson, Paul F. Tompkins, and so many more.

The first half of Invincible season 2 is set to premiere on November 3, 2023, with the remaining half coming in early 2024. It’s unlikely to be the last season though — with the strong fan response and the creator recently saying that Invincible could run for eight seasons, we imagine there’s a lot of life left in Invincible yet.
