Internet trolls President Trump about crowd size in royal wedding tweet
Officials anticipated a crowd of around 100,000 would gather for the royal wedding — and by the looks of it, the actual numbers are yuge.
People from all around the world descended on Windsor on Saturday to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials. While a lucky few members of the public actually scored an invitation to St. George’s Chapel, most stood behind barricades set up along a walkway known as the Long Walk. The street is approximately 2.6 miles long, running from the castle’s gates to the edge of the grounds, and royal fans lined up waiting to catch a glimpse of the bride and groom.
When aerial shots of the road were released, Twitter couldn’t help but compare how many individuals showed up to watch a wedding, with the crowd at President Trump’s inauguration.
@BBCThree was seemingly the first to crack the joke, when the handle tweeted out two shots comparing the crowds.

The side-by-side perspective was similar to what appeared in tweets that angered Trump back in 2017, comparing his inauguration turnout with former President Barack Obama’s.

The National Mall in Washington, D.C., which runs between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, is 1.9 miles long.
Dear @realDonaldTrump
Two words…
"Crowd size"
Hey, at least you have Prince Harry beat on the number of weddings you've each had, right?#RoyalWedding

I'm thinking #RoyalWedding2018 attendance might be more than #TrumpInauguration. Or is this an alternative fact? #CongratulationsHarryandmeghan #HarryandMeghan

So… hummm.. more people show up for Harry's wedding than Trump's inauguration? Beautiful weather. Fabulous town and castle. No one look embarssed to be there. Good day all round! pic.twitter.com/XbJ3yWHP1N

Trump is probably losing his mind right now because the crowds at the Royal wedding are bigger than his inauguration. #TrumpForPrison #resist

Don’t tell @realDonaldTrump but the Prince who will never be king has a much larger crowd for his wedding than DJT did for his inauguration pic.twitter.com/o7dTuguE4F

In January 2017, then-White House press secretary Sean Spicer claimed that the event had “the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.” This came after Trump claimed the media had reported the wrong number of people in attendance.
