The internet can’t stop talking about this picture of James McAvoy

Earlier this week, James McAvoy was spotted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He’s currently there shooting Glass, the follow-up to this year’s sleeper hit, Split, along with 2003’s Unbreakable, both which were directed by M. Night Shyamalan. This sheer fact, in itself, is pretty exciting, since Split was pretty great, and now we’re getting our own ‘lil Shyamalan cinematic universe! But, that’s not why everyone is currently talking about James McAvoy.

A few photos were snapped of McAvoy out and about in Philly, and the internet couldn’t help but notice that he looked different. Gone is the actor who starred in such movies as Atonement and Atomic Blonde, and shaved his head to play Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies. While McAvoy still has a shaved head — his character in Split has a shaved head, and like, gotta keep that continuity up — that’s not why the internet has honed in on this. Rather, the internet can’t help but notice, for lack of a better word, that Mr. McAvoy is “thicc.”

And if you need the definition of “thicc,” it is basically used to describe a beautiful, curvy individual. Here, it is being used to describe the fact that McAvoy is completely jacked right now. Like, he has been hitting the gym, and he has been hitting the gym hard.

If X-Men got a reboot right now, McAvoy couldn’t play Professor X. He’d need to play like, Beast. He could literally play Beast with these muscles. He could play Wolverine! Twitter has taken note.

But then, there are those here to remind us that McAvoy has always been a dreamboat — even all the way back to Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Remember that??
