Tim McGraw took a moment to celebrate both past and present while promoting CMA Fest this week, sharing a throwback photo from one of his first years at the festival, back when it had a different name.

The 56-year-old posted a picture of himself on stage wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, completing the look with a white cowboy hat and black guitar.

"Throwing it back to when it was still called Fan Fair… see you Sunday night #CMAfest!!" captioned McGraw, before he challenged his fans by saying, "Who can guess what year this was taken."

While many fans took to the comments, one of McGraw's daughters, Gracie McGraw, 26, wrote on her father's pic, "Slay."

It seems like pretty much everyone was certain the photo is from the 1990s, but there was heavy debate on what year. The first year McGraw attended the festival was in 1993.

People looked for clues in the details, with one saying, "I’ll guess 1997- a lady has a disposable camera lol nice to not see a crowd full of cell phones."

"This was white hat days. 1994?" guessed another fan.

It seems like the most common guesses were between 1996 and 1998, although McGraw didn't reveal what the actual date was.

"You should bring back the white hat!!" suggested a fan hoping to see McGraw in the iconic look again, and a similar comment said, "This look is 🔥 let’s be real."

Others just took a moment to appreciate McGraw, as a different comment read, "Aging like a fine wine 🙌."

McGraw has been reminiscing about past CMA Festivals a lot leading up to this weekend. Not long ago, he shared another memorable stage moment, this time with his wife and fellow artist, Faith Hill.

This year, McGraw is set to go on stage on Sunday, June 11, at 10:35 pm.
