While going through airport security, travelers spotted an advertisement for the Showtime series Yellowjackets and mixed reactions from fans have caused the marketing campaign to go viral.

The original post shared by actor Dashiell Driscoll features a photo of one of the bins airport travelers place phones, electronics, and other small items in before going through security. However, this one was branded with an advertisement for Yellowjackets, posing the question: "Pack enough snacks?"

While the ad may seem like a relevant question for air travelers, fans of the series know its meaning is much more sinister.

In the Showtime series, a high school soccer team becomes stranded in the Canadian wilderness after their plane crashes. As you might expect, those familiar with the thriller didn't exactly appreciate the ominous message.

One person reacted accordingly, writing, "this is horrifying."

"I’d cancel my flight," said another.

A third tweeted, "If I saw this while passing through security, I would crack up laughing, then run all the way out of the airport."

Some people didn't understand the negative response, sharing other ads they've seen on airport security bins, leading at least one Twitter user to clarify, "the people answering with other series ads on bins, no you don’t get it, it’s not the same."

Considering the dark content of the show and everything the characters go through while stuck alone in the wilderness, it's understandable that people would be unnerved by the ad.

As the series–which stars an ensemble cast featuring Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, Courtney Eaton, Juliette Lewis–progresses, episodes slowly unravel the mystery of what happens after the crash, detailing the trauma and experience of the few that are rescued.

Still, the debate continued throughout the holiday weekend, as another Twitter user responded, "i would simply not get on the plane like y’all aren’t superstitious enough for me."

"A genius marketing move. I’d absolutely not go anywhere near a plane though. @yellowjackets96 @Showtime," noted someone else.

Many others were also fans of the dark humor of the ad, as a viewer replied, "So disturbingly brilliant. The immersive marketin/marketing in general by @Showtime has been absolute."

"This is the type of promo that we love to see," read a different response.

Whether or not the ad would scare you if you saw it at the airport, it certainly succeeded in getting people talking about Yellowjackets.

The second season of Yellowjackets only wrapped up on May 26, and it's already renewed for season three.
