MrBeast is grateful he turned down this once-in-a-lifetime invitation.

On June 25, the popular YouTube star took to Twitter and claimed that he had been invited on an excursion to the wreckage of the Titanic, implying he could've been on the lost Titan submersible.

"I was invited earlier this month to ride the titanic submarine, I said no," he wrote in his online update. "Kind of scary that I could have been on it."

Alongside the tweet, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, uploaded a screenshot of the invitation, which came via a text: "Also, I'm going to the Titanic in a submarine late this month. The team would be stoked to have you along. I'm sure you're also welcome to join."

While MrBeast didn't specify that it was the Titan submersible—which is believed to have imploded with five passengers on board—his somber missive certainly implies that he could've been on board OceanGate's headline-making vessel.

For those who are skeptical of the YouTuber's confession, you're not alone, as one fan responded, "wait why is the text receipt blue why are you making this up?"

However, MrBeast was quick to defend, "My friend sent me the screenshot of when he invited me. Didn’t think to scroll up and screenshot our old texts myself."

This revelation comes three days after OceanGate, the company responsible for the dive, shared, "We now believe that our CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, have sadly been lost."

The US Coast Guard also confirmed that debris discovered near the Titanic's wreckage was "consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel."
