Whether it’s outfitting Chloe Sevigny’s downtown Manhattan apartment, her brother Paul’s legendary hangout the Beatrice Inn, the Truffles Tribeca apartment building lobby or his own East Village store, David Cafiero manages to blend a preppy, East Coast sensibility with more mysterious, exotic and glamorous elements, leading to a vision that sometimes feels a bit like Connecticut WASPs hitting the discos of Europe in the 1970s.
