Despite Ryan Gosling being on everyone’s minds right now, especially after his incredible performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the 2024 Oscars, it seems he’s ready to take a step back. After a whirlwind year of the SAG-AFTRA Strikes, Barbie mania, and an Oscar nomination, Gosling is allegedly ready to take a step back from Hollywood and spend time with his family, just like how Eva Mendes did a few years back.

According to Life & Style, insiders claim that Gosling is passing on a lot of projects to focus on being a dad first. “Ryan’s in demand — but he wants to make sure he has all the time in the world for his girls,” they said. “He wants to take at least two years off and really focus on them.”

And this totally checks out because per IMDb, Gosling only has one upcoming project, a sci-fi called Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. No other actors have signed on, and there’s no other news on it. So it may be some time til it comes out.

But besides that, he’s all about being a full-time girl dad with Mendes. And if you didn’t know, she took a break from acting some years back

In 2020, she talked about why she took a step back from public life: “As a mother now, there are many roles I won’t do. There are many subject matters that I don’t want to be involved with, so it limits my choices and I’m fine with that. I have to set an example for my girls now.”

He and his longtime partner Eva Mendes were originally friends before their romance heated up on the set of the film The Place Beyond the Pines. They share two daughters together named Esmerelda, 9, and Amada, 7.

While Gosling and Mendes are quite tight-lipped about their private lives, Gosling did say a few years back that being a girl dad is so much fun! Per People, he said: “It sounds so clichéd, but I never knew that life could be this fun and this great.”

These celebrity fathers are all proud to be “girl dads.
