When Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, announced her cancer diagnosis to the world, many wondered how the family of five was handling it behind closed doors. With her and Prince William’s eldest being only ten years old, many wondered how their youngsters were taking the news. Well, former staffers claim that Kate likely told her younger Prince Louis about her cancer diagnosis in a more “sugarcoated” way compared to his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

King Charles III’s former staffer Grant Harrold told The NY Post, “For instance, for Louis, I’m sure the conversation was more sugarcoated than it was with George and Charlotte.”

“The older children can understand more, so I’d imagine it was a little more frank but undoubtedly staying positive, which is so important,” he added that Louis “probably doesn’t understand too much” about Kate’s cancer diagnosis. “It’s a tricky one. I’m sure the children will be handling it as any kids would be expected to handle it, but I think their parents are very good at being calm and collected and I think that will rub off on the children.”

This definitely makes sense considering his young age, and the claims made by other insiders, who said William and Kate are inadvertently easier on Louis than their other royal kids.

A royal insider claimed to OK that “William and Kate are easier on Louis because he’s the baby of the family. They don’t want to break his little spirit.”

We just hope the family of five is taking time, and is getting much-needed family time way from the public eye.

For those who don’t know, William and Kate have been together on and off since 2003. They married in 2011, and have since welcomed three children named George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5.
