Inside the Sicilian Resort Where Celebrities Are Flocking This Weekend

You may have seen the reports or, at very least, the Instagrams. Harry Styles, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Gayle King are all in (or rumored to be in) Sicily, Italy. Why such a high star-power get-together? Allegedly, Google Camp—a top secret conference with “a guest list of chief executives, investors and celebrities.”

Every year, it’s held at Verdura Resort, a five-star lodging located 15 minutes from the seaside town of Sciacca. And it’s easy to see why.

Nestled among a valley of olive trees, the Rocco Forte property is perhaps best known for its world class golf offerings: three courses, designed by Kyle Phillips. But, even if you aren’t interested in swinging clubs, there are plenty of other activities. Like gourmet cooking school, which teaches guests how to make pizza, pasta, and Sicilian pastries. Or DJ classes, for those wanting a different kind of table. Then there’s a number of wellness activities like yoga, pilates, and trekking trails. And, naturally, a grand infinity pool—because what better way to enjoy Sicily’s famous sunshine?

Outside the resort, a whole breathtaking world awaits. Verdura is driving distance from three UNESCO world heritage sites, including the Valle dei Templi and Villa del Casale, which has an ancient Roman mural of the first woman to wear a bikini.

As for the guests at Google Camp, the Daily Mail reports that on Monday, they enjoyed a dinner at the Temple of Hera as well as a performance by Rosalía. What more could you ask for on an Italian holiday?
