If you want to get a tattoo, odds are you're going to have to endure some temporary pain and discomfort. That's usually a given.

Some tattoos, however, require more of a physical sacrifice than others. (Take these examples of people who got their armpits tattooed, for instance.)

In a recent video, the Paramount Network TV show Ink Master shared a compilation of some of the most painful tattoos that clients have ever experienced, and the 10-minute video isn't for the faint of heart.

Highlights from the clip include an elaborate, full-back tattoo of a set of wings illustrated by two artists at once, as they race against the clock. In another, a young woman sits through extreme discomfort while getting her scalp tattooed, and nearly passes out from the pain.

Perhaps the most noteworthy highlight, however, involves a challenge from the show in which four artists tattoo a client's entire backside at once—legs and all—as she breaks down crying, and understandably asks to tap out. In the final example, the artists create a series of elaborate tattoos directly on their clients' palms, which speaks for itself. (Any time you tattoo over an area of the skin with such a high concentration of nerve endings, you're going to feel it. Badly.)

That's also why it's so important to make sure you won't regret the final result when all is said and done.

New episodes of Ink Master air every Tuesday at 10/9c on Paramount Network.
