These Are the Influential Asians Being Honored on the A100 List in 2020

The month of May is here, which means Asian Pacific American Heritage Month has officially kicked off and Gold House — a nonprofit collective of diverse leaders dedicated to empowering Asians to have more authentic, successful, and healthier lives — has released its third annual A100 list, which honors the 100 most influential Asians across fashion & beauty, technology, business, entertainment, music, and sports. As you can probably guess, this list is stacked with industry heavyweights.

You can view the full A100 list on Gold House's website, but we'll go ahead and highlight some of the honorees right here: Allure editor in chief Michelle Lee, Vanity Fair editor in chief Radhika Jones, The Farewell actress Awkwafina, To All The Boys I've Loved Before actor Lana Condor, Cravings author and model Chrissy Teigen, designers Phillip Lim and Wen Zhou, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj host and comedian Hasan Minhaj, Killing Eve actor Sandra Oh, A Little Late with Lilly Singh host Lilly Singh, Jumanji actor Dwayne Johnson, and K-pop superstars BTS and Blackpink.

This year, for the first time, voters also selected the single, most impactful Asians per category, as well as the Legend Lifetime Achievement Award:

  • Business: Betty Liu (executive vice chairman, New York Stock Exchange)

  • Fashion and Lifestyle: Prabal Gurung (designer)

  • Media & Entertainment: Awkwafina (actress, producer, musician)

  • Social Activism: Andrew Yang (founder, Humanity Forward, and former United States presidential candidate)

  • Technology: Satya Nadella (CEO, Microsoft)

  • Legend Lifetime Achievement Award: Miky Lee (vice chairman, CJ Entertainment)

And that's not all the programming Gold House has in store for May. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and an uptick in hate crimes targeted towards Asian people, the organization has most recently partnered with Prabal Gurung, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Andrew Yang's nonprofit Humanity Forward, and more to launch a new cross-cultural campaign called the All Americans Movement. This campaign will provide support and COVID-19 care for marginalized groups — which includes "medical supplies, curbing racism and violence, and economic stimulus for small and medium-sized businesses." You, dear reader, can get involved by donating money, shopping the campaign's exclusive merch, and sharing your COVID-19 relief efforts on social media with the hashtag #AllAmericans.

A major congratulations to all of the honorees on the A100 List for your talents, achievements, and contributions to society — and happy Asian Pacific American Heritage month!
