Influencer Issues Safety Warning While Stuck On Iconic Palisades Lift

Megan Pfent, aka "Tahoe Meg", is a Tahoe-based snowboarder and mountain influencer who recently posted a video to Instagram we can all relate to.

The video, filmed on Resort Chair at Palisades Tahoe while it reaches the highest section, is captioned, "this is why I ride with the bar down."

Resort Chair is a 3-person lift that services the left-most side of Palisades Tahoe, including the trails Lake View and Knob Hill.

It reaches serious heights. We all know someone who won't look down when it reaches the upper part of the track!

Right now, the open terrain serviced by Resort Chair is mostly groomers, but there are some fun little mogul runs off to the sides if you look for them!

See Resort Chair on the Palisades Tahoe map below.

It is also, hands down, the best view from any chair at Palisades, with the lake to your back and scenic heights looking into Palisades while going up.

Meg said, "if you're afraid of heights, I would not recommend Resort Chair at Palisades Tahoe."

Anecdotally, on the bar topic: just today, while getting a couple laps in on Gold Coast (also at Palisades, a little further up and to the right of Resort) the lady next to me fell off the chair, stopping the lift lines completely.

It was a pretty good reminder to keep that bar down... it's not just for you, it's for others, as lame as it sounds.

When you were a kid, did you keep the bar up or put it down?

Where I grew up, it was a true sign of coolness to keep it up. But as an adult, I have to agree with Meg: that bar goes down!

Even though lifts never have footrests anymore (bummer, they're the best for resting your skis on...) we'll put our safety bars down.

Especially while riding Resort Chair.
