UPDATE: Indy Parks on Friday announced the first wave of pools opening this weekend.

Which Indy pools open Memorial Day Weekend?

According to the press release, the following pools will open Saturday, May 25:

  • Brookside Park, 3500 Brookside Pkwy S. Drive

  • Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St Clair St.

  • Frederick Douglass Park, 1425 E. 25th St.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Park, 1702 N. Broadway St.

  • Sahm Park, 6801 E 91st St

  • Krannert Park’s indoor pool, 605 S High School Rd

The release said pools will be open Saturday through Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day weekend; and will close for testing and maintenance checks Tuesday through Thursday. Hours of operation for this weekend are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; noon-6 p.m. Sunday; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday.

Which pools open June 1?

Pools that open June 1 are closed on Mondays. Those pools are:

  • Broad Ripple Park, 1500 Broad Ripple Ave.

  • Brookside Park, 3500 Brookside Pkwy S. Drive

  • Frederick Douglass Park, 1425 E. 25th St.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Park, 1702 N. Broadway St.

  • Eagle Creek Beach, 7840 W. 56th St.

  • Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St Clair St.

  • Garfield Park, 2450 S. Shelby St.

  • Gustafson Park, 3110 Moller Road

  • Indy Island, 8300 E. Raymond St. (lap pool only_

  • Krannert Park: 605 S. High School Road

  • Northwestway Park: 5253 W. 62nd St.

  • Rhodius Park: 1720 W. Wilkins St.

  • Stanley Strader Park: 2850 Bethel Ave.

When do Indianapolis outdoor pools open?

Some Indianapolis pools will open up Memorial weekend, but the specifics have not yet been announced at the time of publication.

Alex Cortwright, chief communications officer for Indy Parks & Recreation, told IndyStar that it will be announced this week which pools will open up this weekend and which ones will open next weekend.

"We will have initial pools opening this weekend with more opening up June 1," Cortwright said. "We’ll be announcing the specifics this week once water quality testing wraps up."

When do Hamilton County outdoor pools open?

Carmel

The Waterpark in Carmel opens May 25.

Fishers

Geist Waterfront Park Beach will open Memorial Day, May 27.

Noblesville

Forest Park Aquatic Center opens on Memorial Day, May 27.
