Harrison Ford has suggested that the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie could be his last outing as the hero.

Appearing at the D23 panel over the weekend—where it was confirmed that the movie will be titled just Indiana Jones—the star got emotional as he addressed those in attendance.

During his speech, however, Ford heavily hinted that this may be his swansong, saying: "I'm delighted to be here again, and maybe for the… no, not me. This is it! I will not fall down for you again. But thank you so much."

The star was joined onstage by co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and director James Mangold, and also gave the audience some first-look footage from the movie, including the return of John Rhys-Davies's Sallah.

"I'm very proud to say this one is fantastic and [Waller-Bridge] is one of the reasons," Ford told the assembled crowd.

"Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they're also about heart. I'm really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass."

While full details around the movie are yet to be revealed, star Boyd Holbrook recently promised that Indiana Jones will be "badass".

"I can assure you that it's going to be badass," he told Men's Health.

"I got to see like half an hour of it when I went to LA, and I saw [director James Mangold]. You know, just look at his work: Ford v Ferrari, it's gonna be fast, it's gonna be badass, and it's gonna have heart. All of his films have this emotional beat in them, but we've got this grand scale of Indiana Jones."

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for release on June 23, 2023.
