Ina Garten Speaks Out After Facebook Posts Left Fans "Very Concerned"

In the age of social media, it seems like accounts are being hacked all the time. But it is still unnerving, especially when it happens to a trusted celebrity. That's what happened to Food Network star Ina Garten last week, and she took to Facebook to let her fans know what happened.

The Barefoot Contessa's Facebook followers were bombarded with fake recipe posts that appeared to be from Ina, and the accompanying links took them to offensive sites. Ina was able to get the problem resolved and her account restored.

Ina shared a message with her fans saying, "Thank you to everyone who alerted me that my Facebook page was hacked, and to Meta for helping us get our page back! I will continue to post my favorite recipes here and read all of your wonderful comments! xx ina"

Fans rushed to the comments section to leave hundreds of messages of support:

• "I knew something was up. It was all good post though. Once I saw that profile pic changed to pie I'm like dam they got her."

• "Thank you for the information. I was inundated with so many recipes that looked delish, then I clicked on one and said my phone was compromised. Dang!"

• "Hooray! Thank you for getting that fixed! I was really concerned!"

• "I thought something had happened. Some of the recipes had a little too much spice, if you know what I mean. lol"

• "It's very frustrating! Is nothing sacred anymore! I just knew it wasn’t you! Im glad you got your website back!!"
