Ina Garten is about to make our lives much more delicious—yes, the Barefoot Contessa is releasing another cookbook. Garten recently took to Instagram to hint at what her latest book will be like, and we're already counting down the days until the release.
The Food Network star uploaded a photo inside Roman and Williams Guild New York, a "highly curated" home goods store that is also home to French bakery La Mercerie and floral shop Emily Thompson Flowers. The post shows a fall centerpiece featuring bright berry branches, and the vase is surrounded by various sizes of scalloped-edged plates. "I'm shopping for the next book photoshoot @rwguild!" Garten revealed in the caption. "This store always knocks me out!! Everything is both gorgeous AND functional."
The upload received many complimentary comments from fans, including a note by actress Jennifer Garner who wrote, "Whoa. That is heaven."
This is the most recent tease of her upcoming publication, but it isn't the first time the 71-year-old has mentioned a new cookbook—in fact, Garten has been subtly dropping tidbits about which delicious dishes will be in the book for a few months. Garten first broke the news back in April with an Instagram post of a broccoli and kale salad. She captioned the picture, "Having fun working on my next cookbook!" Then, in June, she posted a photo of a fruit-filled sweet treat and wrote, "First test of a fresh peach torte. What do you think?? #workinprogress." And just a week ago she uploaded an image of a tomato crostata with the caption, "Well, that worked out - recipe testing and lunch at the same time!" Although she doesn't explicitly mention the cookbook in the latter posts, we think it's safe to assume it's the reason she's been busy testing recipes.
Garten hasn't revealed the release date or the title of her upcoming book, but we have reason to suspect it might be pretty soon. Her past two cookbooks, Cook Like a Pro: Recipes and Tips for Home Cooks ($35, Amazon) and Cooking for Jeffrey ($35, Amazon), were both published in the month of October in 2018 and 2016, respectively. Also, her latest post where she noted she was shopping for her next photo shoot is filled with autumnal decor. Plus, an October release would be perfect for holiday entertaining.
So, will we see a new book release from Garten on the store shelves soon? We'll just have to wait and see.
