New York Fashion Week is officially back—and it's bringing a few new initiatives.

Early this morning, IMG President of Fashion Events and Properties, Leslie Russo announced it would be taking monumental steps towards restoring the magic that is NYFW through a new partnership with Afterpay as well as its formation of the 'IMG Fashion Alliance.' Led by a group of top American fashion designers, this partnership is meant to help support the community as a whole in the wake of COVID-19, while celebrating New York's impact on fashion globally for seasons to come.

"The IMG Fashion Alliance was formed with one common objective: celebrate the resilience of New York's fashion and retail industry as we emerge post-pandemic," Russo stated in a press release highlighting the new partnership. "There is strength in numbers and we share and support these designers' commitment to NYFW as a cornerstone of rebuilding New York's thriving fashion economy."

The list of designers taking part in this launch includes Joseph Altuzarra of Altuzarra, Brandon Maxwell, LAQuan Smith, Alexandra O'Neil of Markarian, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia of Monse, Prabal Gurung, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, inaugural designer Sergio Hudson, and cult favorite, Telfar. Each partner has committed to showing their collections across New York for the next three seasons, with the central hub for the event remaining at Spring Studios.

In return, IMG is offering these brands continued support on the business side. From assisting with product efforts to increased live event services, the company is dedicated to doing their part to ensure that New York gets back on its feel, like only the Big Apple can.
