Imaginary Wish List: Miles Davis

Twenty-six years after his death, Illinois-born jazz musician Miles Davis is still the proud owner of the the bestselling jazz album of all time. Over his 47 years in the recording studio, Davis altered the course of music several times; he alternated from hard bop to orchestral jazz, Spanish-influenced jazz to post-bop. Davis’ hit albums included Kinds of Blue, Sketches of Spain and Milestones, all of which featured his singular talent for playing the trumpet. Ushering in a new era of jazz, Davis altered the image of the musician too, relaxing dress codes in favour of button-down shirts and plenty of jewellery. He did don the occasional suit too—always double-breasted—and so, in honour of his musical and sartorial talent, here’s what we imagine he might have in his (online) shopping bag now.
