Ikon Pass Just Added 7 Ski Resorts Ahead of the Upcoming Season
Attention, shredders: It's time to explore these lesser-known mountains.

The winter ski season is just over a month away, but somehow, Ikon Pass continues to deliver on the surprises.
Today, Ikon Pass announced the addition of two international resorts for the 2022/2023 season: Andorra's Grandvalira Resorts and Sun Peaks Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Last month, Ikon announced five resorts that will be new to the pass, too: Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley in France; Sun Valley in Idaho; Snowbasin in Utah; Lotte Arai Resort in Japan; and Panorama in British Columbia. This means Ikon Pass holders can now ski at more than 50 mountain destinations in 11 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
“We love offering pass holders even more endless adventures in the mountains by expanding this global mountain community with new like-minded partners,” Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer at Alterra Mountain Company, the company behind the Ikon Pass, shared in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure.
Grandvalira comprises three Andorran ski resorts — Grandvalira, Ordino Arcalís, and Pal Arinsal — combining more than 130 miles of slope length across 215 runs, 123 lifts, and nearly 7,600 acres of terrain. Sun Peaks is a spot powder-chasers will adore as it receives 20 feet of snow annually. Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days combined at Grandvalira Resorts Andorra’s three resorts with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days, with select blackout dates. The same is true for Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders at Sun Peaks Resort, and both resorts are available on the Ikon Session Pass.
In Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, pass holders will gain entry to the luxe ski life on a mountain known for stellar on- and off-piste skiing and a decadent après-ski scene. In Sun Valley, skiers and riders will get an absolutely astonishing 3,400 vertical feet to explore spread across two mountains, including its longest ski run, which clocks in at a whopping three miles. And in Snowbasin, advanced skiers and riders will find 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, which can be accessed via its advanced lift system that will whip you to the top via chair, gondola, and even a tram.
For those looking to travel to Asia, especially in light of Japan's reopening, Lotte Arai Resort caters to the upscale skier looking to both get in their turns and their spa time. Thanks to the resort’s on-site onsen, travelers can ski all day and soak away the muscle aches all evening. And finally, at Panorama in British Columbia, skiers and riders will find a hidden gem, less frequented than its bigger mountain neighbors, like Whistler.
