IKEA's New Collection Is Interesting... To Say The Least

From ELLE DECOR

Forget everything you thought you knew about IKEA. The steadfastly minimalist, approachable, and quintessentially Swedish furniture brand has a completely new look.

In a new collaboration with British menswear designer Katie Eary, IKEA has released Giltig, a limited-edition capsule collection on sale this week.

Taking a cue from Eary's signature avant-garde aesthetic, Giltig features tabletop items and textiles digitally printed with graphic patterns and electric colors that the designer calls "trippy; something that attracts you and turns up all the senses." Fish, eyeball and cat motifs plaster everything from lampshades and linens, to dishes and duvets.

"I'm excited to bring a bit of personality into people's homes," says Eary, who called Johnny Depp's character in the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas her "muse."

Giltig is the first in a series of collaborations that the furniture behemoth will be pursuing with fashion designers. Could this mean the Kanye rumors are true? Take a look at Eary's psychedelic collection below.
