Iggy Azalea Throws Shade at Playboi Carti for Not Being There for Their Toddler — & This Isn’t the First Time

Iggy Azalea is not afraid to drop the mic on stage or in her personal life. The “Fancy” singer is coming after her ex, rapper Playboi Carti, who she says isn’t there for their son Onyx.
A fan posted a video on X that showed Carti spending time with Onyx at a playground, on the beach, at Disney, and more. Just three hours later, Azalea was throwing shade in the comments.

Azalea and Carti began dating in 2018, welcomed Onyx in June 2020, and split just four months later. On Christmas Eve of that year, the singer publicly went after her ex for allegedly not making an effort to see his son and for alleged infidelity.
“Imagine not flying out your family on Christmas but you have the girl you cheated on me [with] my entire pregnancy at your album party and magically me and my son can’t come for Christmas any more?” she tweeted at the time, per TMZ. And that was just the start.
“This man had a whole family vacation to planned 48hrs ago & I hope this message gets to you girl,” she wrote to the woman Carti was allegedly seeing. “Although you hid in a whole closet from my house keeper so it’s not like you have any dignity I guess.”
Eek! This mama is not holding back. Carti f*cked around (apparently literally) and found out that Azalea has no time for an alleged cheater and absent father.
Carti was arrested earlier this year for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during an argument about a paternity test until she struggled to breathe, per TMZ.
After news of the arrest broke, Azalea said, “Been there. Done that. Warned you,” in a since-deleted tweet.
Even though the Australian rapper clearly has no problem airing out her ex’s dirty laundry, she is a pretty mum Mum when it comes to Onyx himself. It took her a while to share the news of his birth.
“I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world,” she said on Instagram after keeping her pregnancy a secret. “I want to make his life private, but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret and I love him beyond words.”
And, if nothing else, this upsetting saga proves that she does love Onyx and is willing to keep nothing a secret if throwing shade is what it takes to get his father to play a role in his life.
