Idris Elba Has Tested Positive for Coronavirus

Idris Elba has tested positive for coronavirus, the actor revealed in a video on social media Monday.

Elba tweeted, "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic."

He also shared a video of himself and wife Sabrina Dhowre, telling fans that although he had no symptoms, he got tested because he came into contact with someone who also tested positive.

"This is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that could easily spread it," he said. "So now’s a real time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance."

The news comes just after Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson revealed they tested positive for the coronavirus, and would be self-quarantining. As of Monday, People reported the couple left the hospital they were staying at in Australia.
