Idris Elba Suits Up in Purple and Sabrina Dons Vintage Versace for a Monochromatic Moment at NAACP Image Awards 2024

The arrivals on the NAACP Image Awards red carpet was full of A-listers on Saturday in Los Angeles. Among the stars posing for photos was couple Idris Elba and Sabrina Elba.

The two embraced monochromatic looks, with Idris fashioning a suit in purple with a blazer, button-down shirt, trousers and tie in the color. Sabrina opted for a Versace gown in a nude hue from the brand’s fall 2001 collection.

Idris and Sabrina were recently named the faces of Eternity Aromatic Essence fragrances by Calvin Klein, featuring perfumes for men and women. “Idris and I are passionate about the beauty and wellness industries and creating inclusive work that makes us feel beautiful in our skin, in an industry where our needs can often feel underserved,” said the model in a statement.

“Calvin Klein is an iconic brand that has always encouraged freedom and self-expression. We loved creating these images with the team and partnering with Calvin Klein on the Eternity campaign.”

Idris is the recipient of three NAACP Image Awards. “The Wire” alum won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special in both 2011 and 2014 for his work in the series “Luther.” He also won the award for NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance in 2017 for his work in “The Jungle Book.” Elba was first nominated in 2005 for NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for his work in “Sometimes in April.” He received a 2024 nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his work on the Apple TV+ “Hijack.”

The 2024 NAACP Image Awards honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony and winners are announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, June Ambrose and Ciara.
