Idris Elba Revealed He Tested Positive for Coronavirus

As coronavirus continues to be a concern for the health and safety of everyone, it's incredibly important to people get tested if they feel sick or have been in contact with anyone else who has tested positive. That's exactly what actor Idris Elba did after he found out he may have been exposed to COVID-19, and he just revealed he tested positive.

On Friday, Idris found out he came into contact with someone who tested positive, and when he found out, he immediately quarantined himself. He explained that he took the coronavirus test immediately and received his results today.

Shortly after Idris received the test results, he took to Twitter to update his followers on his whereabouts and told them he's currently self-quarantining. He wrote, "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic."

He then admitted that "it sucks" and that his wife, Sabrina, hasn't been tested and is "doing okay." He finished his message by advising everyone to not freak out and to be mindful of their cleanliness and surroundings. He said:

“This is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that can easily spread it. Now is a real time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance.”
