Idris Elba named 'Sexiest Man Alive' and Twitter couldn't be happier

Actor Idris Elba was announced as PEOPLE's "Sexiest Man Alive" during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. And while the actor was not available to receive the honor in person, he did video chat with Jimmy Fallon for a brief moment.Elba was more than happy to wear the mantle of "Sexiest Man Alive." He said, "It's an honor. My mum is going to be very, very proud." Elba even entertained the audience by showing off some of his sexiest faces, like "smolder" and "shy smile." Elba thanked the PEOPLE and The Tonight Show for the honor. He shortly afterwards tweeted a response, in which he got a little political.

Speaking of Twitter, many fans were ecstatic about the decision.

And for some fans, they were just glad last year's winner, Blake Shelton, didn't take home the title again.
