Idris Elba being named 'Sexiest Man Alive' makes all right with the world

Actor Idris Elba was announced People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Though the British actor wasn’t available to receive the news in person, he did video-chat with Fallon for a moment.

Elba was more than happy to wear the mantle. “It’s an honor,” he said. “My mum is going to be very, very proud.” Elba even entertained the audience by showing off some of his sexiest faces, like “smolder” and “shy smile.”

Elba thanked People and The Tonight Show. He tweeted a response shortly after in which he got a little political.

Speaking of Twitter, many fans were ecstatic about the decision.

Some fans were just glad to see the end of the reign of last year’s winner, Blake Shelton.
