Immediately following the news that Olivia Newton-John had passed, social media erupted showing endless love to the actress and the exemplary role she played in Grease.
Along with her name, "You're the One That I Want" also began trending on Twitter, a nod to the classic song from the film, which she famously performed with costar John Travolta.
As tributes began pouring in, a meme of her legendary line from the movie took social media by storm.
If you've seen Grease, the ending scene on replay is the one where Newton-John's character Sandy responds to John Travolta's character Danny about her transformation with a simple, "Tell me about it, stud."
The timeless scene along with the tunes stuck with fans as they remembered the iconic actress.
"Heartbreaking news about Olivia Newton-John. A true icon who defined a generation and gave us THE most iconic movie musical performance of all time," one Twitter user wrote of her role. "Such a big part of my childhood. RIP," another penned with a broken-heart emoji.
Travolta paid tribute to his Grease co-star with a loving Instagram post, saying "you made all of our lives so much better."
Her husband, John Easterling, shared the news on her official Facebook page, noting that she “passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.” She was 73.
