Spooky, but make it fashion. Ice Spice walked the red carpet at the Spotify Best New Artist Party Thursday night in a striped catsuit that put a hot spin on the titular ghost’s iconic striped suit from the 1988 Tim Burton film Beetlejuice.

The catsuit was a long-sleeved nude mesh piece with a plunging scoop neckline and black vertical stripes, pulled from LaQuan Smith’s Fall/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The “Boy’s a Liar” rapper wore the statement piece over a nude thong and no bra. She paired it with silky black peep-toe heels and maximalist jewelry, including a massive diamond chain necklace with the word Princess at the center and several heart-shaped diamonds. She added on a matching chunky silver chain anklet encrusted with tiny white diamonds, plus a big diamond-embellished silver watch, and a massive diamond ring.

And the glitz didn’t end there: Ice Spice also added little white crystals to her baby-pink acrylic manicure and matching pedicure. She wore her orange hair down in a side-parted, straight style, and opted for rosy makeup and a glossy brown lip.

The Bronx, New York–born rapper stuck out her tongue for the cameras as she walked the red carpet at the event, held at Los Angeles’ Paramount Studios.

In just a few days, Ice Spice is headed to the 2024 Grammys, where she is nominated for four awards: Best New Artist; Best Rap Song and Best Song Written for Visual Media, for her “Barbie World” collaboration with Nicki Minaj; and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her remix of Taylor Swift’s “Karma.”
