Ice Cream, Yogurt And Gelato Is Being Pulled From Grocery Stores In 4 States Due To Listeria Risk
The cold weather and the high sugar content aren’t the only reasons you may want to avoid ice cream this winter; Wilcox Ice Cream of East Arlington, VT has issued a recall on all flavors of their ice cream, yogurt, and ice cream bars, along with Leonard’s Gelato due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Wilcox Ice Cream recalls all ice cream, yogurt, ice cream bars, and Leonardo's Gelato
Wilcox Ice Cream made the decision to recall all of their ice cream, yogurt, ice cream bars, and Leonardo's brand gelato that were manufactured on 9/15/23 after one lot of their Super Premium Mint Chip from that day tested positive for potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. The Vermont Department of Agriculture alerted them of the issue on November 14, 2023.
The recalled products, which include sizes ranging from 4oz cups to 3 gallons, were distributed across Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York. They have best by/sell by dates ranging from 9/13/24 and 11/14/24.

Luckily, no illness stemming from these products have been reported. However, it's important to be cautious with recalls like this, as listeria infection can pose a significant risk, especially to people with weakened immune systems, young children, elderly people, and pregnant people.
