Reboots can sometimes be seen as the unnecessary exhumation of a perfectly good show, a resurrection that brings back a half-alive zombie of what a show once was. But that is most definitely not what the iCarly reboot is.

IDK about you, but I was pleasantly surprised about how the new show has managed to maintain the same sense of humor and continuity—despite the fact that one of its biggest characters, Sam (Jennette McCurdy), is no longer around. The Sam-shaped hole has been more than filled by the new additions to the main ensemble: Harper (Laci Mosley) and Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett). And the show has also grown along with its fan base, with Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) openly talking about her sexuality, facing problems that come with adulting and the age of the internet, and getting to swear. F*ck yeah!

Season 2 of the reboot is already proving to be a great follow-up to the first, especially since season 1 ended on a cliff-hanger. And while not all the episodes of the second installment have been released, I already know I’m going to want more.

Here’s everything we know so far about season 3 of the iCarly reboot.

Is the iCarly reboot getting another season?

Paramount+ made the special announcement on July 27, just a few weeks after the second season wrapped up. iCarly will officially be coming back for a third season and it looks like we'll finally get to know what happens next to Carly and Freddie. Check out the big announcement below:

Who’s going to be in the cast if we get a season 3?

Unless the reboot turns into a spin-off, expect to see Miranda return to reprise her titular role as Carly. It’s also fair to say that the main ensemble with Freddie (Nathan Kress), Spencer (Jerry Trainor), Harper, and Millicent would probably be back as well.

Season 2 had a cameo from Miranda’s Drake & Josh costar and TV big brother Josh Peck. Some of the queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race also popped by. So maybe we might see more exciting cameos? Maybe Gibby (Noah Munck)?? Sam??? We can only dream.

What would it be about?

Like a lot of sitcoms, iCarly is one of those series that doesn’t need to be watched exactly in order. Every episode is a new adventure and its own story. You never really need to know everything that’s happened in the series so far, although the background knowledge certainly helps.

Season 3 would probably just have Carly deal with new shenanigans as she continues to develop new content for iCarly and navigates her relationships.

When does season 3 come out?

Obviously, there's going to be a bit of a wait as scripts get written and scenes are filmed. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long. Paramount+ revealed it will be back in 2023, but the exact date hasn't been revealed just yet!
