Get your tissues ready!

Charlie Johnson, a nurse from Arkansas was diagnosed with breast cancer last April, according to PEOPLE. She and her husband decided to do a couples photoshoot together and document their cancer journey.

They settled on a quiet country field where Charlie would pose beside her husband and several family heirlooms. But their photographer Mandy Parks suggested something totally out of left field.

“We started talking about doing this photoshoot and I said, ‘Why don’t you be the one who takes your hair, not cancer?” Parks said. Luckily, Charlie had the same vision in her mind. Pretty badass, right?

“If one woman is struggling with the worries, anxiety, fear of losing her hair and sees this post and can get some hope or empowerment to think ‘I can do this,’ then that is exactly what we want,” Johnson said.

Since Mandy shared the photos on social media, other survivors have been opening up about their cancer journeys.

One commenter wrote: "I sooo needed this Charlie Johnson. Yesterday I was quite sick at work and my wig was amplifying a chemo headache so I took it off. I wanted to crawl under my desk and hide. I was afraid people would judge me because of my bald head. Deep down I was embarrassed...Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing me some perspective. Bald is beautiful!"

Brb, grabbing my second box of tissues.
