Hunter Schafer Coordinates Her Fresh Pink Makeup With a Pastel Topknot

Hunter Schafer is something of a Gen Z beauty muse. From her ethereal makeup moments throughout season one of Euphoria to the pops of saturated color, facial jewels, and washes of glitter she favors in real life, outside-the-lines aesthetics come natural to the rising star. Case in point: Schafer’s look last night in Los Angeles, which featured a dreamy diffusion of pink eyeshadow that seeped into her romantic updo.

At eye-level, a wash of petal pink extended from the outer corners of each eye, up toward the browline, and down into a swirl of blush—mascara and eyeliner eschewed in favor of a look that felt fresh and appealingly offhand. “Every time I see her I tell her she looks like a sci-fi wood nymph, so that was kind of the inspiration for this look,” says makeup artist Sandy Ganzer of the moment. And while the shade expectedly made an appearance on her lips as well, a more idiosyncratic echo occurred within Schafer’s updo. Her topknot came accompanied by a duet of face-framing blonde wisps pulled loose at the temples, the style as a whole tinted in a shade that toed the line between lavender and rose gold. Consider this a welcome invitation to translate the ethos of springtime’s bloom into a mood primed for the chillier months.
