Hungry? Judges needed for high school BBQ state championships
BURNET, Texas (KXAN) — If there’s one thing Texas does better than the rest, it’s barbecue. And it’s not just a backyard pastime for us in these parts. For some high schoolers, it’s the start of a career.
The Texas High School BBQ Association is hosting this year’s state championships at Burnet High School on May 4. Teams from across the state will compete in these categories:
Pork Chop
Skirt Steak Tacos
Chicken
Pork Ribs
Meat Chili
Teams with the top score will move on to the national competition in Branson, Missouri.
How can you help?
The competition needs judges, and that’s where you come in. To sign up, contact Sarena Ringstaff at (512) 755-2719 or fill out the form so organizers can assign you a spot.
