Hummel and Kellogg’s Launch New Cereal-Themed Sneaker Collaboration

Hummel launched a new collaboration with Kellogg’s last week, unveiling a pair of cereal-inspired sneakers that invoke the recognizable Corn Flakes mascot. The shoes are part of a larger lifestyle drop from the two brands that includes socks and soccer jerseys.

The new hummel x Kellogg’s collaboration combines the athletic brands’ classic Stockholm LX-E sneaker with Kellogg’s Corn Flakes’ recognizable colors and character design details. The shoes, which are made from microfiber leather, keep the body of the classic Stockholm silhouette but add a fun, unique twist to the classic style.

The Stockholm LX-E x Kellogs sneaker maintains the white body, adding small bursts of red and yellow coloring to the heel and heel collar. The collaboration’s shoe laces are a vibrant green, adding a unique pop of color not typically seen in hummel’s shoes, meant to represent the body of the famous Kellogg’s bird Cornelius the Rooster. There is plenty of Cornelius iconography where that came from, as his head sticks out of the sneaker’s tongue.

As with all the Stockholm LX-E sneakers, the style is a marriage of utility, style and comfort, designed to be both a fashion and athletic shoe. This lifestyle collection adds a pinch of nostalgia to the mix.

Not the first collaboration of its kind, cereal-inspired footwear appears to be a trending phenomenon. Just this month, Kellogg’s and Crocs unveiled a collaboration starring two of the cereal giant’s other brands: Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops. Plus, on top of Toucan Sam Crocs and Tony the Tiger sandals, in February of this year, Kith Treats released the Nike LeBron 4 in a Fruity Pebbles cereal-inspired colorway. This collaboration joins them on the list of shoes one should wear while eating breakfast.

The hummel x Kellogg’s collection dropped on April 12 and is now available exclusively on hummel.net and in select retail stores.
