A workout photo shared by Chris Hemsworth went viral over the weekend, as the actor showed off his recent gains. Best known for playing the jacked god of thunder in Marvel's Thor and Avengers movies, Hemsworth's physique is looking more swole than ever as he gets in shape to play '80s and '90s wrestling star Hulk Hogan.

And if there were any lingering doubts out there as to whether or not the Australian leading man is right for the role, Hogan himself just gave Hemsworth his official stamp of approval. Posting side by side photos of himself and Hemsworth on Twitter, Hogan wrote: "He's Ready BROTHER!!!!!" and added that Hemsworth is "already there" in terms of his muscle growth.

The only question that remains, according to the wrestler, is whether Hemsworth is good-looking enough to play him...

The film is reported to be an "origin story" chronicling Hogan's rise in the world of wrestling in the '80s, spanning his time as "the Hulkster" during the height of WrestleMania.

In an interview with the magazine Total Film earlier this year, Hemsworth confirmed that he would be working hard to be his biggest for the upcoming biopic. "I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor," he said. "There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude... I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I'm really looking forward to doing."
