Huge 5-Month-Old Great Pyrenees Puppy in Houston Is Waiting for Her Perfect Home

If you're even considering adding a furry family member to your pack, it's wise to do some research about adopting a shelter dog. You can find canines of all ages, breeds, and sizes in the shelter, and you won't be supporting potentially unethical breeding. The best part? You'll be saving a life when you adopt your best friend!

No matter where you live, your local shelter is bound to have a selection of animals you can meet. For those in the Houston area, though, animal rescue advocate Becky is your girl in the know. She helps to care for the animals at Special Pals, an animal shelter and non-profit that aims to save as many animal lives as they can. One of their recent intakes is a Great Pyrenees puppy named Goldie who wants a forever home more than anything in the world. She couldn't be any cuter!

Aww! Goldie is one gigantic puppy, but that's about right for a Great Pyrenees! This huge dog breed is famous for protecting livestock with their big bodies and loud bark, and they can grow to well over 100 pounds as an adult.

We can't imagine how difficult it is for Goldie to spend so much of her life in a dog run, especially at a young age. But we'll hand it to this Texas shelter--her enclosure is pretty spacious compared to others! It looks like she has an indoor space and an outdoor space, too, so she can still find some canine enrichment in a change of scenery.

Of course, nothing beats finding a forever home, and that's exactly what Becky (AKA @bigcityb) aims to help Goldie do. The Great Pyrenees puppy has already interested several potential adopters, though the shelter volunteer has yet to confirm if the sweet pup has been taken home yet. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed!
