Houston Humane Society Makes Plea to Find Home for Precious Senior Blind Dog

Spending hours on social media undoubtedly has its downsides, but you'll be happy to know that it has its upsides, too. Not only are there thousands of adorable animal videos to keep you entertained, but there are ways to connect with--and even help--people and animals who need it the most.

Recently, TikTok viewers singlehandedly covered an animal rescue's vet bills by fundraising the entire amount in less than a day. Many humane societies post videos of their residents, hoping that someone will fall in love and adopt them--and many times, it works!

That's why the Houston Humane Society is introducing their followers to Claudia, a senior shelter dog who was rescued from an abusive home. Her previous abuse left her blind in both eyes, but she's still as loving and loyal as a dog can be.

What a gorgeous old gal! The 'powdered sugar' on her face helps her look wise and distinguished, but her smile lets us know she still has a lot of pep in her step. After surviving an abusive home and over 150 days in the @houstonhumanesociety, this Texas shelter dog is the picture of resiliency.

Like the shelter mentioned in the video description, she deserves a home where she can live her best life each and every day. She'll need an owner who's willing to give her plenty of time to adjust since she'll be getting used to a whole new home without seeing it. If you're considering bringing Claudia home, know that you're committing to keeping your home layout the same for her whole life!

"Blind dogs do amazing once they map out the place," agreed commenter @dukeswife11. "Moving furniture is not nice once they acclimatize. I rescued a blind pup and he was the best!" We never get tired of rescue dog stories, especially when the pup has special needs or requires intensive care. These loving pets deserve homes just as much as any other--they just live their lives a bit differently than most!
