UPDATED: 3:40 p.m. EDT: Hosts Carla Hall, Michael Symon, and Clinton Kelly addressed the cancelation of The Chew on Tuesday's show. "The mood is a little sad around here, to be honest with you," Kelly said. "There's a lot of people who work really hard on the show, who really believe in this show, and we're all going to miss this show very much."

The hosts talked about the time they have spent on the show, both building their friendships with one another and learning the impact they have on their viewers. "People always ask us, 'Do you really have as much fun as it looks like?'" Hall said, after accidentally dropping a curse word on the air. "And we do! We have more fun! The fun honestly start in the dressing room."

"I could count on a couple fingers the days I didn't want to wake up at 5:30 and come to work," Symon said. "It has been the most fun I have ever had in my life, any job I've ever had, and it's because of the fans."

ORIGINAL POST: May 24, 2018, 8:44 a.m.: After seven seasons on the air, The Chew has been canceled by ABC. The hybrid cooking show and talk show will be replaced by a third hour of Good Morning America later this year.

“While this is the right decision for our business, it is also bittersweet. For seven years The Chew has delighted audiences by delivering innovative food segments in an entertaining atmosphere,” Ben Sherwood, the president of ABC Television, said in a press release.

Hosts Carla Hall, Michael Symon, and Clinton Kelly posted on social media about the end of The Chew, and thanked fans for their years of support.

Hall posted a photo on Instagram from the set of the show, Kelly and Symon by her side. "I am so grateful for all the good times and incredible friends I have made over the past seven years on [The Chew],” she wrote. “It has truly been an amazing ride. Symon thanked the fans of the show in a Facebook post. “As you may have heard by now we found out today this is our final season of The Chew,” he wrote. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who not only was involved with show but to all those who watched daily and allowed us to entertain you...it has been an amazing run and we are all looking forward to new fun things!...xoxo...MS”

Kelly posted a message to The Chew fans on Facebook. “Thank you for all your kind messages. Yes, The Chew was canceled. Huge bummer, but that’s the TV biz,” Kelly wrote. “Michael, Carla and I will truly miss making you laugh and inspiring you to try new things every day. We’re gonna finish out the rest of this season with as much enthusiasm as we can muster! I’m sure we’ll talk about it on tomorrow’s show. Again, thank you from the bottom of my [heart.]”

He also said in the comments of his post that his fans shouldn’t be angry about the show ending. “I’m tearing up while reading all these comments,” he wrote. “I am honored to have been a part of your life and to have given you even just one smile over the course of the last seven years. Please don’t be angry. It makes me sadder.”
