Hostess Is Going Full-on Springtime With Its New Iced Lemon CupCakes
We might be getting a bit ahead of ourselves, but we’re calling it now that lemon is going to be a huge flavor this summer. Last month, Kit Kat took the reins on spring and summer by releasing its new Lemon Crisp flavor. Hostess is up next, with its new Iced Lemon CupCakes!
Instagram account @theimpulsivebuy posted a picture of the latest Hostess offering. It was spotted at Jewel-Osco, the supermarket chain from the Chicago area. According to the packaging, the limited-edition Iced Lemon Cupcakes consist of a lemon-flavored cake that is stuffed with that classic white filling and complete with icing and the Hostess swirl on top.
Hostess is very good with making its products available nationwide, so we’re hoping that this will happen with these new CupCakes in a matter of time. We have no doubt that they’ll be rolling out at Walmart, Target, grocery stores, and plenty of retailers shortly!
This isn’t Hostess’ first go with using lemon in its pastries. The brand has a Lemon Fruit Pie, as well as an individually wrapped Iced Lemon Cake. Back in 2011, fans voted for Twinkies to release a Lemon Meringue flavor, so it sounds like lemon cupcakes are long overdue!
Remember that the Iced Lemon CupCakes are limited-edition, so while they’ll eventually disappear from shelves (hopefully after summertime), we’ll always have the chocolate and orange flavors to keep our stomachs happy.
