Hooters' New-Ish Restaurant Chain Hires Both Men *And* Women, And It Doesn't Require Tight Tanks
While the news of a new restaurant chain under the Hooters name isn't new, the plans for Hoots' future expansion is. According to Eater, the counter service-only restaurant will soon be coming to a second and third location in Chicago, as well as to a single location in the city of Atlanta.
This news comes soon after two new equity firms-Nord Bay Capital and TriArtisan Capital Advisors-purchased the Hooters restaurant chain and are attempting to rebrand it after almost 10 percent of their restaurants were forced to close nationwide over the past few years.
While the only Hoots location right now boasts it's "a Hooters joint" right out front, it varies from its parent restaurant in a bunch of ways, as will the forthcoming locations. Fortune reports that not only does Hoots employ both men and women (for those who haven't been to a Hooters, those restaurants exclusively employ female staff), but it also outfits their employees in more standard server clothing, as opposed to Hooters' famous tight tank tops.
What's not so different between Hoots and Hooters is the menu. While Hoots doesn't offer table service, its menu is packed with things like chicken wings (and a bunch of sauces to go with them), fried pickles, and chicken sandwiches. Not to worry-there are plenty of beer options, too.
It's unclear when we can expect Hoots' newest locations to open, but if you're dying for some wings with a side of lower-key sexism in the meantime, you can find the one that already exists in Cicero, IL.
