Alanna Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, is planning to get weight loss surgery. The reality star’s manager told TMZ that Alanna will be having the surgery in August, after she turns 17.
Alanna plans to have suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve surgery after not getting the weight loss results she’d like. According to TMZ, Alanna is worried that her weight is genetic and views the procedure as the best way to lose weight.
Alanna's boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, is also set to undergo the same procedure, per TMZ. They wanted to go through the experience together.

How does it work?
An endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty typically causes significant weight loss by limiting how much a person can eat, the Mayo Clinic says. However, people who go through it need to commit to a healthier lifestyle to help them achieve long-term weight loss results.
When the surgery is used alongside lifestyle changes, the Mayo Clinic says that someone can lose about 15% to 20% of their total body weight in one to two years.
How much does this procedure cost?
According to TMZ, the procedure usually costs about $13,000. It's not clear how much Alanna is paying for it, though.
Why is Honey Boo Boo getting this procedure done?
TMZ says that Alanna has been trying to eat healthier and increasing her exercise, but she hasn’t had the results she would like. She currently weighs 275 pounds and would like to reduce her weight to 150 pounds.
