'You never truly know what somebody is going through.'

Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her family are going through it right now.

After it was reported that Thompson's sister was battling stage 4 adrenal carcinoma cancer, the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum took to Instagram to comment on the situation.

“This is what I mean when I say you never truly know what somebody is going through at home,” Thompson, 17, wrote on her Instagram Story March 30. “No matter how famous they are. Yes, I’m very famous, but normal s--t happens to me and my family & y’all need to realize that ASAP.”

Earlier this week, reports claimed Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, the eldest daughter of TV personality Mama June Shannon, was diagnosed with cancer back in January after complaining about stomach pain. It's said that cancer was later discovered in her liver, kidney, and lung.

Cardwell is said to have undergone chemotherapy last month, with sources telling TMZ that the family is "very hopeful" she will respond to the treatment.

Fans will likely recognize Cardwell from her appearance on her family's participation on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras and their own spinoff, the aforementioned Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Since appearing on the TV programs, Cardwell has become a mother of two. She welcomed her first child, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, in 2012. After marrying Michael Cardwell in 2014, she gave birth to daughter Kylee Madison in 2015. Cardwell later separated from her husband in 2017.

Cardwell was notably estranged from Shannon after the latter reportedly began dating Mark McDaniel again after his release from prison. According to the Daily Mail, McDaniel was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation charges: Cardwell was his victim.

Shannon and Cardwell have since made amends, as Cardwell participated in Shannon's wedding to Justin Stroud earlier this year.

Shannon told People in February, "All four of my girls walked me down to Justin and his mom walked him down the aisle."
