Holiday pie guide: These Fort Collins-area bakers, shops have you covered for Thanksgiving

Serving dessert this Thanksgiving is easy as pie thanks to Fort Collins' many bakeries, pie shops and even one ... movie theater?

That's right. There are plenty of kitchens churning out holiday goodies this month, from classic pumpkin pies to molasses cookies and oh-so-seasonal apple cider doughnut cakes.

Here is who has you covered with preordered pies and holiday desserts as Thanksgiving nears.

The Bread Chic

130 W. Olive St., Unit B, Fort Collins

The Bread Chic — a farmers-market-born bakery that put roots down in Old Town a couple years ago — is once again serving up pies and other baked goodies this holiday season. Items on its website, including pies, pastries, breads, dinner rolls and more, can be preordered online at thebreadchic.com through Nov. 17. Holiday pickup will take place at The Bread Chic after 10 a.m. Nov. 22.

Buttermilk Bakery & Pie Shop

748 S. College Ave., Suite D, Fort Collins

Buttermilk Bakery & Pie Shop is celebrating its first holiday season at its new south Fort Collins location, with preorders already open for Thanksgiving pies. Peruse and order its available pies and Thanksgiving goodies at buttermilkbakeryco.com while supplies last. Pickup will take place Nov. 20 through Nov. 22.

Explorado Market

11 Old Town Square, Unit 121

Gluten-free bakery Explorado Market is appropriately serving up plenty of gluten-free and food-allergen-friendly pies this season. The Old Town shop is offering gluten-free pumpkin pie, Dutch apple pie and pecan pie, as well as dairy and sugar-free pumpkin pie and pumpkin pie bars, take-and-bake cinnamon, pumpkin and apple pie rolls and sugar-free single-serve cheesecakes, pecan pies and lemon curd. Fiona's Delicatessen, Bakery & Catering

1001 E. Harmony Road, Fort Collins

Pies abound at Fiona's this holiday season, with 10 pies and a few more holiday dessert items up for grabs as Thanksgiving nears. Flavors include Michigan tart cherry pie, pumpkin pie, bourbon pecan pie, fall maple spice cake and more. Pies and cakes are $40 and can be ordered online at fionasdeli.com/holiday-orders. Orders must be placed by Nov. 17. Pickup is on Nov. 22.

Ginger and Baker

359 Linden St., Fort Collins

Take your pick from eight of Ginger & Baker's pies this holiday season — including apple, cherry, lemon meringue, coconut cream, chocolate explosion, maple pecan, cranberry orange and pumpkin. Order one ahead of time at shop.gingerandbaker.com. The last day to get your holiday pie order in is Nov. 17. Pie pickup will take place in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. The last day to pick up your pie is Nov. 22.

Little Bird Bakeshop

613 S. College Ave., Fort Collins

Little Bird Bakeshop has a range of holiday pies available for preorder — including pumpkin, bourbon maple pecan, apple crumble and peanut butter mousse. Other Thanksgiving goodies include a spiced peach and plum galette, pumpkin cake, quiche flourless torte, Japanese milk buns, pumpkin pecan buns and cranberry sauce. Holiday pies and desserts range from $26 to $38 and can be ordered online at thelittlebirdbakeshop.com.

The Lyric

1209 N. College Ave., Fort Collins

The Lyric's kitchen is churning out pies in time for Thanksgiving, with options from sweet potato and pumpkin to chocolate silk pie and cheesecake. Pies are $35 each and cheesecakes are $40. A gluten-free crust is an additional $5. Order your pie online at lyriccinema.com/movie/thanksgiving-pies-from-the-lyric. Orders must be placed by noon Nov. 19. Pickup will be Nov. 20 through Nov. 22.

Me Oh My Coffee and Pie

3310 W. County Road 54G, Laporte, and 280 E. 29th St., Loveland

Laporte favorite Me Oh My is not doing preordered pies this holiday season. Instead, the pie shop — which recently expanded in Loveland — will be ramping up production and selling pies on a first-come, first-served basis at both locations. Pies available on Thanksgiving week include apple and gluten-free apple, cherry or cherry bourbon, pumpkin and gluten-free pumpkin, pecan, cranberry pecan streusel and blueberry. Regular pies are $34 and gluten-free pies are $37. Both Me Oh My locations will be open for pie sales on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21. The Laporte location will be open until 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving, while the Loveland location will be closed.

Mountain Avenue Market

250 E. Mountain Ave., Fort Collins

Fort Collins' downtown food cooperative will be selling a range of holiday pies from The Bread Chic this year. Pie options include pumpkin, berry, apple and pecan as well as gluten-free or vegan pumpkin varieties. To sign up for a pie ahead of time, call 970-484-7448 or visit the market before Nov. 20. Starting Nov. 20, pies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Pig & The Plow

140 Boardwalk Drive, Unit J, Fort Collins

This Midtown bakery has holiday treats galore, from molasses cookies and apple cider doughnut cake to honey almond bars, apple, salted maple or butternut squash pies and more. Renee is offering $26 spiced apple, $26 bourbon chocolate pecan and $27 triple layer chocolate pumpkin cheesecake pies, with vegan options available. Pick-up will be on Nov. 22 at The Fox and the Crow in Fort Collins, Timnath's Colorado Feed & Grain and Orion's Apothecary in Loveland.

This cozy neighborhood bakery is taking orders for pumpkin, apple, pecan and key lime pies, with gluten free and vegan options available. Sunny Sky Pies offers 14 pie options ahead of Thanksgiving, including maple pumpkin, apple, browned butter pecan and more, with several gluten free and vegan options. Pies range in price from $32 to $38. All pies must be ordered by the end of the day on Nov. 19. Pie pickup is from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 21, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 22 and 8-11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
