This Holiday 'Cheer Map' Shows You The Best Christmas Lights In Your Neighborhood

Driving around the neighborhood to look at holiday lights has always been one of my favorite Christmas traditions. As a kid, we'd get bundled up and drink hot chocolate as my parents drove us to all the best light displays in town. Seeing lights pop up on houses still gives me that nostalgic Christmas feeling. And this year, it's easier than ever to find the best Christmas lights near you with Nextdoor's Cheer Map.

Nextdoor and The Home Depot have teamed up to create the ultimate interactive map of holiday lights, so you can easily find the biggest and best displays in your neighborhood. Their 'Cheer Map' is live online and on the app and the neighborhoods are already filling up with suggestions. You'll need to create a profile to access the map, if you don't have one already, and then you'll be able to see all the homes where people have reported pretty lights.

And you don't have to live near one of these outdoor botanical light displays to see the best twinkling lights! Since 90% of Nextdoor users said they planned to put up holiday decor this season, there's sure to be plenty of local options to choose from. Plus, now is the best time to go—70% of users reported putting their lights up in November, so any time between now and Christmas is a good day to pile the family in the car and drive around.

This year, the map will also include seasonal how-to instructions for things like how to hang Christmas lights on your house, along with product suggestions from The Home Depot.

Once you've hung the lights, powered on the holiday inflatables, and decorated your outdoor Christmas tree, you can use the Nextdoor app to add your own home to the map.
