Hole lot of kindness: Krispy Kreme giving away free donuts for World Kindness Day

Good news, you can get free donuts on Monday.

Bad news, you'll have to get up early and drive a little bit to get them.

Krispy Kreme is giving away a dozen free original glazed donuts to the first 500 people to visit participating locations on Nov. 13, 2023, as part of World Kindness Day.

Best part, you can just go in, get your donuts without buying anything, and leaving. The only holes in this plan are in the donuts.

“World Kindness Day is an opportunity to make a positive difference by being generous – from paying it forward to meaningfully connecting with each other. Simple gestures of caring and thanks, including sharing a sweet treat, is a great way to do that,” Global Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena wrote in the announcement.

What better way to spread kindness than to share a donut. Or, celebrate all the people you've been kind to this year by eating the whole dozen.

Krispy Kreme has five locations in New Jersey, but none are in our area. The stores are in Collingswood, East Rutherford, Springfield, Paramus and Jersey City.

If you miss the free donuts, it won't be a wasted trip. The store is offering a line of autumn donuts that are quite popular.

According to USA Today, other stores around the world "will offer a similar deal on World Kindness Day to inspire people to connect with each other and share kindness through warm, deliciously sweet bread."
